TVG Gender Focus

As the African Development Bank has stated “Eliminating gender inequality and empowering women could raise the productive potential of one billion Africans, delivering a huge boost to the continent’s development potential.” Supporting women economic and leadership participation with access to economic ventures, leadership roles and safe homes help themselves and their families to escape poverty. TVG prioritizes diversity in terms of it beneficiary groups both, direct and indirect beneficiaries, in age, gender, social classification and access. A key principle of the organization operations is gender exclusion and social inclusion (GESI) as a key thematic area of all interventions areas of the organization and will ensure equitable representation of less privileged social groups (PWDs, youth groups, etc) in
the city are well engaged as a key approach of ensuring inclusiveness in building a collective agenda for a sustainable healthy city for adolescents. Women are often marginalized in development and decisions making that affect their lives and the entire household. Women make up the majority of those who suffer disparities in the resource distribution affecting many aspects of their lives. Moreover, the damage from disasters, pandemics, and conflicts threatens women development. TVG has adopted international standard safeguarding policies that promote women’s rights and development.

Our Priority Areas

The priority needs and in order of priority are given as follows:
1. HIV and AIDS services

2. Support poor and smallholder farmers in rural communities

3. Provision of agricultural knowledge in climate smart agric/farming and inputs

4. Support of Poverty reduction through economic empowerment

5. Water and sanitation

6. Access to marketing for agro product
